What I love about Hotel Drover weddings

Quintessential Fort Worth — that’s what you get at Hotel Drover. Nestled in the heart of the iconic Stockyards, this rustic-luxe hotel delivers western luxury like no other.

Every wedding I’ve planned here has been smooth and seamless thanks to a stellar venue team that truly cares about creating the best guest experience possible. The grounds are meticulously maintained and provide endless opportunities for stunning photos. It’s a venue I know inside and out, and that familiarity makes planning here a joy.

Hotel Drover offers a variety of ceremony and reception spaces that blend rustic charm with refined elegance.

With vaulted ceilings, 150-year-old reclaimed timbers, and sparkling chandeliers, this space is rustic-luxe at its best. It opens up to a beautifully landscaped outdoor area, giving couples an indoor/outdoor flow that’s perfect for ceremonies, cocktail hour, or late-night lounge vibes.

Legacy Hall

Elegant, detailed, and paired with an outdoor veranda, Legacy Hall is a favorite for smaller receptions with around 100 guests or fewer. The versatility of the space allows for endless design possibilities.

Stockyards Station

Thanks to Hotel Drover’s prime location in the Fort Worth Stockyards, couples can also take advantage of its western-style event spaces. Lone Star Hall, Stockman’s Club, and Stampede Ballroom are all spacious venues that really capture the essence of a cowboy-chic celebration.

Hotel Drover also has several meeting rooms that can work well for smaller gatherings, like rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, and farewell brunches. Whether you’re planning for 50 guests or 300, the Drover team ensures each celebration feels tailored and seamless.

Hotel Drover wedding cost: Budget expectations

I recommend couples budget a minimum of $150,000, or around $1,200 per guest, for a Hotel Drover wedding. While inclusions vary based on priorities, this typically covers:

  • Venue rental
  • Food & beverage (with exceptional menu options)
  • Florals and décor
  • Linens and rentals
  • A live DJ (expect to pay more for a band)

One insider tip: don’t underestimate taxes and service charges when factoring in your F&B minimum. These can add up quickly, and I always make sure couples have a clear picture of the true investment upfront.

Insider tips for planning a Hotel Drover wedding

I’ve been fortunate to plan some amazing Hotel Drover weddings, and here are a few things I recommend to anyone considering this iconic Texas wedding venue.

Upgrade Your Chairs

Most of the stunning Hotel Drover weddings you see online feature rented chairs. While the in-house banquet chairs are among the nicest I’ve seen, investing in specialty chairs elevates the entire guest experience.

Book a Suite

The hotel’s suites are spacious and ideal for getting ready with your wedding party. Having hair and makeup on-site, then simply heading downstairs to your ceremony, makes the day flow seamlessly.

Maximize the Stockyards

Your guests will love that they can walk to restaurants, bars, shops, and live music right outside the hotel. Turn your wedding into a true Fort Worth weekend experience by planning a welcome soirée, after-party, or farewell brunch in the Stockyards!

One-of-a-Kind Hotel Drover Weddings

One of my favorite things about Hotel Drover is how versatile it is. No two weddings I’ve designed here have ever looked the same. From luxury glam celebrations draped in fabric and dripping in florals, to earthy botanical designs, cozy autumn vibes, or dark and moody candlelit dinners — the space transforms beautifully to match each couple’s style.

And my dream design? A Ralph Lauren Polo Bar meets swanky bourbon lounge. Think plush leather chairs, plaid prints, and moody Victorian colors, layered with The Barn’s rustic beams and sparkling chandeliers. One day, I’ll make it happen!

Getting to Hotel Drover

Located in the Fort Worth Stockyards, Hotel Drover is easy to reach and surrounded by iconic Texas charm. Guests can explore Mule Alley’s shops, sip cocktails at lively saloons, or enjoy live country music just steps away. It’s more than a wedding — it’s an experience your guests will remember long after the last dance.

For guests flying into Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Hotel Drover and the Stockyards are an easy 30-minute drive by way of Texas 121 TEXpress or I-30.
