Hattie and Pierceson’s winter wedding at Hotel Drover in Fort Worth, Texas, arrived just days before Christmas, and the design leaned fully into the season. Their ceremony unfolded beneath a clear-top tent, with black bistro chairs lining an aisle dressed in lush white roses and baby’s breath – a bloom that always reminds Hattie of her mom. A live string trio set the tone in the golden evening light. During cocktail hour, guests found their seats courtesy of a pair of escort-card trees, each tag doubling as a handwritten note from the couple.
Inside the barn, candlelight carried that same warmth into the evening. Long tables were layered in deep forest green velvet napkins, soft olive runners, and matching velvet table numbers. Tables were lit by brass table lamps and clusters of taper candles catching the glow of the crystal chandeliers above. Place cards doubled as dinner menus, printed with the couple’s custom toile pattern, illustrated with nods to the UT Tower (where the two met in college) and their dog, Torrey.
A lamp-lit bar wrapped in fresh evergreen garland anchored one side of the room, with shimmering tinsel trees and custom napkins offering a few subtle nods to the season. As dinner wound down, the live Manhattan Orchestra band took over the green-and-white checkered dance floor, and the party stretched well into the night.
This celebration proves a December wedding can feel elegant, intimate, and seasonal all at once, without ever feeling like a holiday party.
